CONFLICT

write about three things: example of conflict but not from the movies we saw in class, an example of conflict in real life(something you know about and who is against who), and think about an idea for that film in the real life conflict.

1In Tim Burton's movie Corpse Bride, a young man is sent to the world of death after accidentally promising to marry a dead woman. Because he was already engaged, he was trying to escape and come back to his life to marry his fiance, who was already engaged to another man. He decides to finally leave his old life behind and die to completely commit to his soon to be wife. About to poison himself, he is stopped and his old fiance is back. This story is twisted and really captures the full attention of the people watching it.
2Having a restaurant and business may seem easy. There are always people trying to sue small businesses without even caring if one day that sue could lead the business owners to losing everything and declaring bankruptcy.
3Their mother left them at a young age. Leaving all of them behind, they were put into different homes. Three of the seven siblings are in contact with eachother. The others were adopted into good homes and them being older, has not given them the initiative to look for the younger ones and see how they have been doing.

B;Entering a burning building to save the professor, Tadashi Hamada life was ended by a huge explosion. Young Hiro Hamada now grieving the lose of his older brother, becomes determined to find and capture the person who started the fire.
M;Finally capturing the man who started the fire,with help of his friends, his identity is exposed. Behind the mask is the professor who was never really trapped in the fire. Hiro is shoked. His brother died saving the antagonist's life and now Hiro decided to finish him off as he was the reason for Tadashi's death. Hiro's friends stop Hiro from making Baymax(giant health care provider that is inflatable) kill Yokai(the professor). Hiro leaves after the Yokai is free.
E;The truth is discoverd. Yokai only went against everyone as revenge for the lose of his daughter. The Big Hero 6 Team was finally able to capture him and lock him up. Baymax destroys himself to save Hiro and Abigail(Yokais NOT dead daughter). Baymax's SIM card was saved and was able to be rebuilt by Hiro.
This movie had a great beginning and end. It really captured the attention of the viewer.

my review on the Elephant Man (blog post 9)

A story of a young, brilliant man who was mistreated and never taken into account, yet he treated people well and was always aware of the circumstances in which he lived. Inspiring. 

The Elephant Man was a great movie that alludes the torturing life that some people with deformities live. The Elephant Man made me realize that looks are not important and looks do not define you as a person. Being respectful to others and treating others defines you. This movie has motivated me to be aware of the mistreat of people around me and to not be afraid to defend others. This movies has biblical reference that reflects on God sending his son to earth through Mary, and sending his son to make others realize the importance of life. In this movie the main character is "ugly", but in reality he is beautiful. He is loving, generous, and an amazing person. 

This movie had a big impact on whether or not I am a good person. Perhaps i have not always been a good person, but now i know that it is never too late to change. There is always time to improve our way of being and change our perspective on how we see others. 

This movie teaches values, morals, and respect.

what if john merrick kept a diary?

These people, victims, like me, lie  here today, tiered, hopeless,  and alone.
I heard the dry crunch of leaves before me, and as I turned I feared to see the face of my enemy, but instead I saw a brother. He quietly unlocked my cage and helped me out. I was shocked, that someone had found the courage to help everyone out of our cages and help us all escape. I felt a familiar warmth.    Not a physical warmth, but more in my soul. The same warmth I felt when I received the gift from my dear friend. The warmth I felt when Ms. Kendall kissed my cheek. A warmth that gave me the strength to lift myself and escape this tourture. To leave this life that I do not deserve. That NO ONE deserves.
At last I took off on my own, after saying goodbye to my brothers. Again in fear of someone seeing me, I hid my face. When will I be able to be normal? Will I ever be normal?

welcome to my nightmare

Welcome to my Nightmare:

A foot below water, I saw myself during my lifetime remembering the great moments of my life and the great people I had met. I tried to reach the surface to take at least one breath, but as much as I tried I couldn't. It might be true, you know, what they say about seeing a bright life when you feel death so close. I remember having my eyes open the whole time as I could see the surface so close. When I was no longer able to hold my breath I begun to see a bright light just on the surface. I convinced myself that it was just the sun, but who knows maybe I was about to drown. Right when I was about to breath in the cold water, I was able to get loose and move up. The moment I inhaled fresh air, I felt tears in my eyes because I realized how precious my life was, and how terrible it felt to feel death so near. It seems really crazy to me how one of the things I have always loved most, was almost my end. This experience made me become more cautious on how swimming is important and also made me become more careful. I begun to fear water for a while after this, but I overcame my fear and begun to love it again. This experience has made me know that one should always be aware of the things going on and one should always make sure to teach others survival tips, because I got lucky I knew how to swim and could hold my breath under water for a while, but there are so many people that don't know that and don't think something like this could ever happen to them. The consequences could have been worse.

compassionate science

Science. Science allows us to create new things to save lives, help others, and give others the opportunity to advance. What would life be without compassion?
Through science we become capable of building new things like prosthesis to give someone new hope. We have the opportunity to encourage others to prosper. Compassion pushes us to create things that are beneficial to others as well as ourselves. Without compassion, people with missing arm or legs may have never been able to find a replacement or find a solution. Science without compassion would be greedy. It would not allow us to advance in helping others. Today there are many people creating prosthesis and designing them to actually help others be able to feel comfortable. Also, people can feel better about themselves and live an easier life with less complications.

my review of Modern Times

Modern Times is a great movie. Before we begun watching the movie in class I thought it was going to be a boring old school, black an white movie with absolutly no sound. There was actually sounds of things movies and of only some people speaking. The point of this was to not end the fame of the character that he had been portraying for almost 2 decades as a non-speaking character. Modern Times had metaphors that went well with the message of the movie. At the end of the movie, Charlie Chaplin sent a message to all the people that were having a miserable time. He advised them to simply smile and keep moving forward. This is an old movie that can be seen now and still be enjoyable. Also, people could still relate to the feelings of the workers and relate to the metaphor that was shown at the beginning of the movie. 

My Thoughts on Bullying

What could a school do to stop bullying?

Over the years, I have witnessed many events in which students have been bullied. Looking back i wish i would have done something to stop the kids that were bullying others. I wish i could have helped those being hurt by all the name calling.
Cyber bullying. During my eighth grade year it was really common for everyone to have myspace or facebook. There was this girl in my class that thought it was funny to be making fun of a girl in seventh grade. She put pictures with mean captions and the other girl would get really upset. The seventh grade girl started being rude back and they begun getting into arguments online where everyone could see. Eventually they ended up getting into a fight one day after school where the girl that went to my school pushed the seventh grader down and started beating her up. The girl had to go to the hospital because of a cut on the head and her mother called the police. Because of the other girl bullying a seventh grader for no reason and there being proof of everything, she got into massive trouble. Bullying leads to big problems that affect the person being picked on and the person who is causing all of the trouble.
Teachers at school she be more aware in the change in their students and should ask more frequently if anyone is experiencing bullying.
